Keep Calm and Flutter On, part 2

It's a beautiful day at Sweet Apple Acres. The sun is shining, the birds are singing... and the beavers have flooded the orchard. Which is why Fluttershy is there; Applejack can't understand beavers, so she can't negotiate on her own.

"Good news!" Fluttershy relays. "Mr. Beaverton Beaverteeth has agreed to take his dam apart and move it."

"Well, it's about time!" Applejack grumbles. "My apple trees are so waterlogged, I can practically hear 'em gargle!"

Mr. Beaverton Beaverteeth apparently has somewhat more to say on the matter, though. Fluttershy dutifully translates: "But he says first you'll have to apologize for calling him 'a nuisance'."

She's not exactly comfortable with this message, but she doesn't want to leave this unresolved either.

"Apologize!? He's lucky I didn't call 'im a varmint!"

The varmint - er, beaver - chitters angrily at that.

Fluttershy's eyes widen. "Mr. Beaverton Beaverteeth! Such language!"

But he's not the only one at fault. Fluttershy turns to look at Applejack.

All right, all right. Applejack's heard what the pegasus can do with those eyes, and she doesn't want to experience herself.

"Fine, fine." She hesitates. "I apologize."

[needs_fern]

Mr. Beaverton Beaverteeth sticks out his tongue at AJ. She growls back, but Fluttershy keeps her from escalating the situation. The beaver thinks for a moment and pulls out one small stick from the dam.

There's a rumble and a clatter, and the central section of the dam falls apart and drifts downstream. The orchard immediately begins to drain.

Applejack heaves a sigh of relief. "Thanks, Fluttershy. Don't know what I would've done without you."

"Glad I could help," she answers.

Hang on, wasn't there somewhere they were supposed to be...?

"Hey, slackers!" Rainbow Dash zooms over. "Double-time it on over to Ponyville, would ya? We're all waiting on you!"
