Hurricane Fluttershy, part 4

needs_fernFluttershy isn't happy. She can't even do one thing right. What kind of friend is she, if she can't even help Rainbow Dash with the tornado? Less than one...
Gradually she becomes aware of the animals that have gathered around her, under a large willow tree. One of them, a squirrel, offers her a cheekful of nuts. She manages a slight smile and scritches him behind the ears as she responds, "Aww, thank you, but... I'm afraid a couple of little acorns won't solve my big flying problem." The squirrel looks down in disappointment.
Mama Duck quacks her own suggestion. "I tried," says Fluttershy, slumping back to the ground, "but... oh, you should've seen those ponies laughing at me." A pair of songbirds then tries, tugging on Fluttershy's mane to get her to lift her head. "I know it's important to have confidence in myself -"
She is interrupted by a badger, who recounts a time Fluttershy had helped him. "Yes... Yes, I do remember. The river was swelling..." She pauses, and the badger prompts her on the next part. "... And you were scared..." She trails off again, and the badger prods her memory one more time. "Yes... I did tell you to never give up." Fluttershy recognizes what he means, and makes herself finish, "And to believe in yourself."
Sitting up, she addresses the animals more generally. "You're right, my friends! I shouldn't give up! I will get my confidence up, and show everypony that I am a good flyer!" As she soars up through the tree, she changes her mind on that last, and calls out, "A great flyer!"
